Program Introduction
The Summer Work & Travel Program for Chinese university students in the United States is a well-established cultural exchange initiative sponsored by the U.S. government. With a history of over 60 years, it has run successfully across Europe, the Americas and other parts of Asia before being introduced to mainland China. Every year, around 150,000 international participants come to the United States on J-1 visas during summer vacation. They take up short-term paid positions for three months, while getting the chance to travel around the country and experience local life. This program allows participants to learn about American culture, traditions and lifestyle in a direct and authentic way.
MoreThe Intern/Trainee Program is designed to provide current college students and recent graduates who have well-defined career plans and wish to further develop their expertise in their field of study with the opportunity to undertake a 6- to 18-month professional internship at U.S. companies. This program has been successfully operating for several decades, with numerous enrolled students and recent graduates obtaining J-1 visas each year to pursue internships in the United States. In addition to their internship, participants can also travel within the U.S., experience American life, visit prestigious universities, broaden their horizons, and gain a deeper understanding of U.S. culture and customs
